it is possible that the article's author is biased.

To fully support your argument about THIS specific claim, you will need to post qualified information regarding other subsidies paid to other farms.
If this particular farm was found to have received an unfair allocation, then I would support an investigation. If further, Mr. Trump was involved then he should be held accountable.

(This is in stark contrast to the left, which would rarely go against their politicians even in much more severe cases of corruption)
For example, Obama's billions spent on green energy projects which mostly vanished (along with billions in taxpayer dollars) The media and the left ignored it.

On the other hand, just because the owners of the farm are wealthy should not preclude them receiving fair subsidies that are allocated for ALL.
To do so would be discriminatory. The application of the law should be blind.

How do you not? Well, what I mean I guess is how does a free marketer see them as anything less? When there is a trade deal a business owner can't simply buy/trade/sell with whomever they like. They have to get the governments permission to. If the government currently is on the outs with that country they might even tell you that you can't.
