Benefits to repealing the 1st Amendment

All of those I would consider protected under the law.

Satanism I would not. I also wouldn't consider cults such as WBC or FLDS protected under the law.

What's your beef with the WBC? Are you still pissed off about the time they protested your faggotry?

They're a good example of a sect which I think any reasonable person wouldn't consider a legitimate religion. I don't think that any other Christian or church considers them legitimate.

Not sure. But seeing as how my wife was formerly the secretary of a Methodist church and now teaches at a Christian school, I can tell you this: Most church doctrines denounce such faggotry as same sex marriage and transgenderism. Even so, some "woke" Christian churches are willing to turn a blind eye to their own doctrine, in order to keep the pews filled.

This has led to a phenomenon called "disaffiliation", where the church members vote to leave their denomination and form new churches. The United Methodist church my wife went to and occasionally dragged me to, had a disaffiliation vote two years ago. The vote failed, so half the members pulled up stakes and formed a new church affiliated with the Global Methodist denomination, one which is far more conservative.

Well, some people interpret Jesus to have been homosexual:

Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

So if you're saying "all religions are created equal", you can't say that that interpretation is any less valid than any other.

Some people are idiots too. Anyone who's ever read the Bible could easily figure out that Jesus never bumped nasties with anyone, man or woman. If he resisted the Devil placing him up on a high mountain and promising him everything he could see, I'm pretty sure physical lust would have been an easy one to overcome.

The Episcopal church is in such turmoil over the same type of stuff.

Off the top of my head, here are some benefits I can think of:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion

This may have been a mistake. I would be fine with legitimate religions such as Christianity being recognized, but not things like Satanism, or cults such as Westboro Baptist Church. I'd be fine with them being banned.

or abridging the freedom of speech

Some "speech" has no redeeming value, and I'd be fine if it wasn't protected. Examples could include expressing hatred of people based on their race or their sex.

While this likely won't happen, I think we shouldn't consider the 1st Amendment sacred, and should be free to question it, just as how many people are questioning the 2nd Amendment in the wake of gun violence.
The benefit would be whichever party tried it.... they would not continue to exists....

One benefit of repealing the 1st Amendment is you will soon find out why we have the 2nd.

Fascism isn't the problem with this country. You're the problem, and I'm glad we finally have someone fixing that problem.

You are quite the little authoritarian, aren't you?

How old are you? You sound extremely young.

The main benefit is to keep the government out of it. Let individuals decide what they want to belief and how they should worship

The 2nd benefit is to keep individual or groups of people from deciding what other should believe or behalf.

The 3rd benefit it keeps the zealots in line as burning people because of the mob beliefs that they are witches would still be a reality.
