I remember a controversial "honor killing" in this country, in which a father murdered his teen aged daughter for wearing jeans. It stayed in the media for about two minutes.
This was about three decades ago. Why would we think it's been any less prevalent since then?

There are things I have loved about Islam -- mainly their art. But they're savages when they circumcise little girls, murder a disobedient teen-ager or stone to death the victim of rape.
Wish I still had it -- a very telling book, the title of which I don't even remember, about the abuse of women in Islamic cultures. I especially recall the telling about the special room that's built into many homes in some Islamic cultures, for the purpose of imprisoning a woman. A tiny room with no lights, no comforts, to which a disobedient woman will be sentenced for the rest of her life. She gets meals, and that's it. For the rest of her life. Because a psychotic man imagined her guilty of a crime.
No, do not let this barbarism take root in my country.
