Joshua didn't kill all the Canaanites. That's a myth.. nor did they have any huge armies. Jerusalem was less than 10 acres and had a population of less than 1,000.
Again, you're fighting a strawman,
because you avoid the lack of connection
between those Canaanite tribes and the Arab tribes occupying the land today.
Not only there's nothing to connect them culturally as a continuous civilization,
but the Arab tribes occupying southern Levant today, don't have any cultural
traits distinctive from the invading foreign civilizations.

Archaeological data suggests that Canaanite cities were never destroyed or abandoned. Now, ancient DNA recovered from five Canaanite skeletons suggests that these people survived to contribute their genes to millions of people living today. The new samples come from Sidon, a coastal city in Lebanon.
Those who were Jews, remained Jews. Very few would have converted to Christianity or Islam.
Still, it does not make all of those who call themselves Palestinians today, related to the Ancient Jews.
The Byzantine mention Jews as native, not "Palestinians"
The Kurds and Arab invaders mention Jews, not Palestinians
The Crusaders massacred Jews and Muslims in Jerusalem, not Palestinians
The Ottoman Empire mentions Jews and Arabs and others. But no Palestinians.
The British mention Jews and Arabs, Muslims.
No Palestinians
