Giving links to currently functioning places is a no no here, so only post about the places you used to hang out at or are familiar with that are no longer in existence.
Over the years, I have met a lot of people. Some places, I just browsed. Some I lightly participated in. Some were a riot to read, like Bards Coliseum. He was funny but a strange guy much loved by the denizens of the place he called his coliseum of battle words. I read he passed away, which is a shame. He was a fun read.
Then there was Auction Watch, now called Vendio but the old forums are gone.
One was a place that featured a train or something. Engine, caboose, etc.
Another was just to fight with another place's denizens via cutting and pasting responses at one place to be copied and pasted at another just to bicker.
I hung out at EONS a lot too. Was really bummed it closed up. No warning either!
So...what are/were your own experiences in surfing the web way back then and the people you met and have not really forgotten?
