bank runs are pointless for the average American .... simply put if there were a run on all the banks then said money that was withdrawn would still be worthless if all banks along with the economy totally collapsed .

That's true as far as the avg American being a bit of a dolt.
For others, recognizing the tides & anticipating what's coming could mean taking said dollars out of the banks beforehand & converting them into real money or hard goods that will hold or increase in value once a crash becomes inevitable even to the low infos watching tic tack vids & sending twits all day.
Those are the types that end up doing pretty good in comparison to the lemmings
