Well if somebody is actually in the building it's a whole lot better than just dumping the baby in the woods or in the trash. It still is,.. but people should be in the building at all times if they want this to actually work since babies need constant attention even if they're sleeping because then somebody has to be around to listen for them to make sure that they're alright.

The Indiana Safe Haven Law enables a person to give up an unwanted infant anonymously without fear of arrest or prosecution.

As long as there are no signs of intentional abuse on the baby, no information is required of the person leaving the baby. Any knowledge of the date of birth, race, parent medical history, child's health or anything that would be useful to the child's caregiver would be greatly appreciated.

Once the baby is examined and given medical treatment (if needed), the Indana Department of Child Services will take the baby into custody through Child Protective Services where it will be placed with a caregiver.

Just follow the precedent in Washington state with Christine Warren.. the mother that gave birth to her child in a gas station restroom room and then disposed of it in the trash can ... I hope it was a future Joe Biden or other Democrat politician / celebrity.

Fire stations have around the clock shifts with people there. I’m no expert but surely there’s some alarm that would go off when someone opens that box. It is a much better solution for any woman who is that desperate who would consider hiding the fact she was even pregnant (happens frequently) and use a trash bin or worse, as opposed to saving the life of their newborn this way. This way allows the baby to be adopted by loving family who wants a baby.

When I worked as a firefighter/paramedic there was always somebody in the station 24/7/365.

Come on...

It is far less sick than a mother tossing her child into a dumpster wrapped in plastic (happened recently, likely in far more than one incident) and walking away. The child will die if no one finds him, obviously.

It is a sign of the times that we even are discussing this. And no one can deny that the times are SICK

But again... this drop box thing is FAR less sick than abortion... (or the above scenario)

I don't see how you can be so vehement/indignant at this story.. after looking at a photo of an aborted child... so I'm wondering if you have?
