I suspect the Jews of Nazi Germany cried racist too, right up until most of them had been exterminated. Meanwhile I am sure "well meaning " Germans even assuaged Jewish angst with overtures as endearing and dismissive as yours . That is, until the pogroms began. And after the Allies entered a defeated Germany and looked in places where the foggy stench of of death hung suspended in the air and strange flakes of ash settled upon every uncovered thing, I wonder how many of those who perished had been persuaded to adopt a similar approach as you propose. When racism and hate is seen, I think it is unwise to ignore it. It needs to be weeded out before it grows into something that can't be controlled. It will never be eliminated but racism must be continuously nipped in the bud!

The White Democrats of Ferguson do give your ancient premise some credibility in current times. There are conservative racists in BOTH parties but the heads of nearly all of the domestic White terrorist organizations have endorsed Trump and the GOP!

Ancient premise? The KKK is the longest lasting, most notorious of White racists They were started a couple of years after the end of the Civil war, and were the armed wing of the Democrat Party, and currently they are experiencing a resurgence of Democrats. Their purpose was to terrorize and murder "uppity" Blacks and white Conservatives trying to help the Blacks.

You have you selective outrage going full bore. If a Republican did something 20+ years ago, it's a travesty. If a Democrat did something 20+ years ago, that's ancient history and of no consequence.

Fast forward to the 1960's. It was white Democrat racist KKK members the tried to stifle Black voting the South, and tried to stop the march between Selma and Birmingham. Also, don't forget about the "Uppity ******" comment made by Democrat President Lyndon B. Johnson while in the White House, or Democrat Sen. James Byrd who was a former Grand Wizard of the KKK.

As far as David Duke goes, he is a nut bar and nobody claims him.

So what about Sen. Jeff Sessions. He made racially insensitive statements many years ago (Now who is bring up "ancient premise's"? Does the term "Selective Memory" have any meaning to you?), which was not uncommon back then. I'm not saying it was right or wrong. It just was.

If you are also talking about the neo-Nazi's, they are having an identity crisis. NAZI is an acronym of German words for National Socialists Party. Being National Socialists they are actually on the Left of the political spectrum (Keyword here is "Socialist").
