I hear what you're saying. Aaron Sorkin via Andrew Shepherd detailed it beautifully at the end of The American President. Not surprisingly, on the small screen he answered the unasked question at the end of the movie--on the West Wing. "Our job isn't to appeal to the lowest common denominator; our job is to raise it." Whether the electorate is in the mood to listen to a discussion about taxes and deficit reduction is probably a moot question; clearly they are not. They are more interested in mythical cat eating.

Ignoring the root causes of a rot forming in society will cause the society to die. It's that simple.

You know I just can't stop thinking about the fact that as much as I support Donald Trump as our president it completely bothers me that he wants Jimmy Kimmel to remain off the air. Yes it's true that Kimmel is insensitive and I don't agree with him whatsoever, but how can we as conservatives be upset for him mocking MAGA and trying to silence his right of freedom of speech while at exactly the same time be upset that Tucker Carlson was thrown off the air for using his free speech?

The president did not order Tucker Carlson off the air. The FCC chairman did not order Tucker Carlson off the air.

Carlson was fired by Fox because he was the face of the Big Lie on their network, and they got caught.
