“Without knowing and voluntary consent, plaintiffs ingested incredibly high doses of a drug that credible medical professionals, the FDA, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, all agree is not an effective treatment against COVID-19, and that if given in large doses is dangerous for humans,” the lawsuit says.

According to the lawsuit, “high doses” is “no hyperbole” and inmates were in some cases given up to 6 times the approved dosage of ivermectin. Each of the four inmates in the suit suffered side effects including vision issues, diarrhea, and stomach cramps.

“No one - including incarcerated individuals - should be deceived and subject to medical experimentation. Sheriff Helder has a responsibility to provide food, shelter, and safe, appropriate care to incarcerated individuals,” Gary Sullivan, legal director of the ACLU of Arkansas, said in a statement.

Not one inch of separation from what that sheriff, and his medical staff did to those inmates, than what Dr. Mengele did to inmates in Germany.

Welcome to Republican America.

Hmm..., none died, and they survived the deadly Covid-19 virus. None of the "symptoms" were permanent.

Did the Inmates live? That's the key issue here in my view.

They were facing certain death from the Death Virus, Covid 19, and if they took ivermectin and miraculously survived, how is that bad?

Except for the fact it makes Brandon, Fauci, and the rest of the medical establishment look like dunces.

But I guess that's more important to the Biden Devotees than the lives of black inmates.

Trumpism is coming home with the chickens.
It was inevitable and this is only the beginning.

The effeminates of the CDC and FDA are incorrect about ivermectin, and the latter blacklisted the natural compound, quercitin, also effective against the commie Chinese virus.

So you are saying that the sheriff gave the criminals Ivermectin to keep them from getting Covid and obviously none of them caught covid. I'd say that the CDC is just pissed that the sheriff did a better job preventing covid than they did as the crowded jails were hot spots for covid.

Mengele tortured his patients to appease his sadism----he didn't care about the well being of the people he treated and he was not trying to save them.

The Sheriff was trying to save his inmates from getting sick and dying. There is a big difference.

Update, judge not amused..lawsuit not tossed:

A federal judge has refused to dismiss a lawsuit that says detainees at an Arkansas jail were given the drug ivermectin to fight COVID-19 without their knowledge.
The lawsuit contends detainees at the Washington County Jail in Fayetteville were given ivermectin as early as November 2020 but were unaware until July 2021. Ivermectin is approved by the Food and Drug Administration to address parasitic infestations such as intestinal worms and head lice and some skin conditions, such as rosacea. It is not, and was not at the time, approved to treat COVID-19.
U.S. District Judge Timothy L. Brooks ruled Thursday that the lawsuit could move forward, saying Dr. Robert Karas used detainees for an experiment, The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.
In a written opinion, Brooks said that Karas began conducting his own research and hypothesized the drug could be an effective treatment for COVID-19.
Karas prescribed ivermectin to two groups of test subjects. The first was composed of people who sought out Karas’ services at his private medical clinic and agreed to take ivermectin as part of an experimental treatment for COVID-19, Brooks noted. The second set was composed of detainees who were incarcerated at the jail.
“The inmates received Dr. Karas’ treatment protocol for COVID-19, but did not know it included Ivermectin,” Brooks wrote. “Dr. Karas and his staff falsely told the inmates the treatment consisted of mere ‘vitamins,’ ‘antibiotics,’ and/or ‘steroids.’ Critically, the inmates had no idea they were part of Dr. Karas’ experiment.”
Since the detainees were never told that their “treatments” contained ivermectin, they were never warned about the drug’s side effects, Brooks said. According to the FDA, side effects for the drug include skin rash, nausea and vomiting.

In addition, Karas hypothesized that large doses of ivermectin would be most effective in combating COVID-19. The problem, however, was that the FDA had only approved a dosage of 0.2 mg/kg to treat worms, according to Brooks. Karas ultimately prescribed lower doses of ivermectin to his clinic patients and higher doses to his imprisoned patients.

Stomach cramps and diarrhea?
Exactly what the experimental Paxlovid did to me. Add the taste of metal to that also.
Difference is..you got to choose--and they did not. Worse than that, they were knowingly lied to.
This shouldn't even be a political issue at all.

So you see this as OK? Lying to patients about giving them an experimental drug?
