BUENOS AIRES — Argentina on Wednesday became the largest nation in Latin America to legalize abortion, a landmark vote in a conservative region and a victory for a grass-roots movement that turned years of rallies into political power.

The high-stakes vote, during 12 hours of often dramatic debate in the Senate, gripped the nation and exposed the tensions between a conservative society long influenced by the Roman Catholic Church, and a more secular generation that is fired up by a growing feminist movement.

For those not familiar with the story, this was a huge ruling in a country where the Catholic Church has a stranglehold on government policy making.

who would have thought legalizing the murder of innocent children is a milestone,,

I don't see how we humans cannot stop the occurrence of unwelcome pregnancies. We have the technology. Now comes the education and the availability in the people's hands.

death is certainly not a healthy thing,,

The opposition had a moment of silence.

Can you imagine the opposition for anything just taking a moment to STFU?

Do children's lives still begin at Conception?

Yes.

Does an abortion still stop a beating heart?

Yes.

Does our Constitution still say that "all persons are entitled to the equal protections of our laws?"

Yes.

Does this fucktarded decision n Argentina change any of the above?

No.

Good news. Government and politicians should never be involved in such a personal decision.

The anti-abortion movement always was phony, anyway.

In this world, humans are in danger all of the time in many situations, and nobody cares. How many people live in war zones or just plain poverty? Just in this country alone, this week, one of the "pro-lifes" on USMB responded to a story about a woman trying to feed three kids on no income with a smirky "where's her husband" rather than figuring out how to feed these kids. The "pro-lifes," even in the times before Covid, never put out any plan about where unwanted babies go once they are born. Nothing. Now the ranks of foster kids are swelling, and they aren't finding homes.

We have the technology to greatly lessen the instance of unwanted pregnancy, and all society needs to do is get it in the right hands, but this is opposed by the "pro-lifes," who apparently would prefer abortion. What do they want? What is their motive? They have something up their sleeves but don't want to talk about it. We know that humans have had sex since the beginning of time and that most of the time the men and women who do it don't want an offspring. Saying that I heard as a child about parents of seven or eight: "Catholic or careless?"

With this sort of bizarre and sly behavior, there is no reason to allow these people to dictate public policy for the entire nation.

Maybe you can explain. Black women make up over 40% of the total abortions here. Black women of prime child bearing years represents maybe 4% of the population. What exactly do you see in this statement from a sociological angle.

So the cancer of liberalism has finally got a foothold in Argentina. Let the rot begin.

I wish the left half of your avatar was aborted.

Maybe someone who really should have been aborted in the first place? A Skews abortion benefits society and saves scarce resources. Doesn't seem the OP has much use to exist with a stone cold fucking heart like that..

Explain what? Regardless of your statistics, valid or not, and any relevance they would have, these women apparently became pregnant and either didn't want to be or something else went wrong. They have the right to make up their own minds, the same as people of other races.

You need to explain why the public shouldn't use technology to eliminate the problem of unwanted pregnancy, which, of course, leads to abortions. People would rather not have the problem in the first place than endure any sort of invasive surgery, and particularly an invasive surgery that is scrutinized by wacko big-government types.

Thinking of something for you Skews The Fetus Eater.

Since we have gender reveal parties and such. Why not have an abortion party or shower. Celebrate it with Bloody Marys with Absolute. In a blender for a party effect. Maybe a little food color to make it look more realistic.

Bake a cake of a fetus around 22 weeks gestation.

That way we can cut the cake. Dick has the head. Mary has a leg and an arm. Junior has a wing Would be a hell of a party.

My stance on abortion. I could give a flying fuck what some chick does with her unborn nuisance. If you want to get it Hoovered out and have its parts sold on the Black Body Part Market, more power to you.

That sums up my position on abortion. Think I'm pro choice?

Do you always write this much shit on a nonsense poli chat site? I only need to read 5 words.
