RE: Are some people simply born evil??
SUBTOPIC: The question about "Evil"

The concept of "pure evil" is (basically) a myth often associated with some act of violence.
Agreed! Genetics can offer some connection with "abnormal" cognitive or behavioral activity ("traits are all influenced by genes to some extent"). In this regard, "one gene, one disorder" (OGOD) is more likely to be wrong than correct.
However, "evil" is not a true scientific term with a precise meaning. It is NOT classified as an OGOD predictor.
The monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) Gene (AKA: Warrior Gene) (as purely an example) is (today) commonly associated with antisocial or violent behavior (influencing evil predispositions, as well as, heroic actions). The MAO-A is a double-edged sword leading to a diagnostic probability rather than a prediction or omen.

(COMMENT)If people can be born gay, or in the wrong sex, then people can be born evil. We don't like to believe such a depressing thing, but evil is just one of the many personality and behavioral traits that humans have. And these traits are all influenced by genes to some extent.

(COMMENT as a MATTER of OPINION)Anything that is controlled by genes has a range of variations. For the trait of height, we have very short people, then slightly short people, average height people, slightly tall people, and very tall people. For weight, we have from skinny to fat. For intelligence, we have mentally challenged to geniuses. You get the point. And so we also have people who are evil, to people who are saintly. There is nothing impossible about someone born evil.
