Are podcasts and one line quips all this site is being reduced to?

First off, I'll get the bias out of the way....I despise political podcasts.

It seems more and more posts are little more than a podcast by someone pushing an agenda and often a product. Oh maybe the OP posts a line or two to make it "within the rules".

Are there any thoughts of how to mitigate political podcasts going forward?

Maybe make the OP post a hard news link supporting the podcaster's position?

the biggest problem is losers complaining about boring things

the site could implement on new rule on them but there rarely is anyone around to enforce the rules so I guess, just ignore the lazy posts.

Podcasts are nothing more than someones opinion on a matter, same as alot of X, TikToks and other social media sources.....none of which fall under the guise of journalism & those 'rules'.

Atleast with a hard link to an article, somewhere on there says if it's an opinion and even if it is a real story and is often influenced by the writer's bias.......there are usually links to sources for the story.

I think podcasts can be informative, but like you, I hate the idea of telling forum readers "Hey, watch this podcast" or "This guy speaks truth. I wish I could say way, but you'll just have to watch this 30-minute video."

Yeah, **** that.

Podcasts are talk radio without all the commercials.

If you like a podcaster, by all means, share the podcast.

I'd rather fund independent journalists and pundits with my attention and clicks than the New Dork Slimes or ****'s News.

A few years ago, I would have said, "Podcasts? Show me a legit source."

But mainstream media are so broken now. There's no real news from the 'real' media. It's up to each person to determine for themselves what's real and what's bullshit.

Unfortunately, the average person can't tell the difference, and that's why I think democracy is not long for this world.

Jusy post it and let the chips fall where they may.

There was a day when tyranny ruled and being pinked was like a leprosy inflicting USMB posters, but a roll of sausage saved the day and now we are free like the molecules in space..
