I’m wondering if people in the US are having hard time finding jobs because of the economy not doing well.

Nope. People are having a hard time finding jobs because they either too stupid or too lazy.
True. They don't understand "any port in a storm". We need thousands of welders right now, but that doesn't mean you have to be a welder forever.

Where did you hear that the economy was not doing well ?
The economy can be doing well but that doesn't mean everyone is doing well, even if they are working. Even many 'good paying jobs' can't keep up with the cost of living, especially housing costs.

I would imagine SOME people are having a hard time finding a job. This could be people with
  • a criminal history
  • a few years of zero work history
  • fired from past jobs
  • drug addicts
  • wearing Islamic clothing
But for the average person why would it be hard to find a job, when the economy is doing very well, and millions of jobs are being vacated by illegal aliens getting deported ?

Exactly right. And it's not just people with jobs. Retired people too. Last month the Social Security administration "raised" our SS payment 2.8%.
At the same time our rents went up 10%.

Some are, some not. Some lack resources or motivation to go to where jobs are available. Jobs move and types available in specific areas change due to economics and political decisions affecting work in specific areas. Some like the training to perform new functions in changing economy. Some, not to the point of accepting employment at a task or pay rate below what they feel they deserve.

Does the economy actually sucks in general? Not the greatest by any means but, generally speaking, NO. It has been far worse. Problem is, it does not appear to be improving, and could get worse, like some of the bad ole days.

FALSE!
The most referred to yardstick of the economy is GDP growth, In 2025, it has jumped from minus 0.6 in the 1st quarter (lag over from the Biden recession), to a healthy 3.8 in the 2nd quarter, to a robust 4.3 in the 3rd quarter, possibly topping 5 in the 4th.

As for jobs, with millions of them being vacated by deporting illegal aliens, combined with the economy revving up, this may be the best time in US history for job hunting.

This also means that millions of consumers are leaving the economy.

/----/ It's a combination of many factors. AI is eliminating jobs. Young workers have unrealistic expectations for jobs they apply for. Ever-increasing minimum wages have eliminated jobs. Self-service kioses. Illegals still take low-end jobs from Americans, and as JGalt said in post #4 "People are having a hard time finding jobs because they are either too stupid or too lazy."

Many are reluctant to relocate to where the jobs are. I was shocked when a good friend headed for the Texas oil fields to work as a laborer upon graduating high school. I am not one to relocate as I had a career open up for me at home.

There are plenty of jobs available for people that want to work.

Yes they are.

About 30-40% of those employed are underemployed for the careers they have specialized training and experience in. They usually have 2 jobs. Possibly one full time and one part time.

Then about 35% of recent college graduates are completely unemployed.

The ONLY group that seems to be fully employed are the skilled trades. In fact there's a huge demand for skilled trade workers....especially Electricians.

However,
This is common when an economy shifts.
People find themselves without skills for the emerging economy.

Soon, I expect a huge need for localized programmers of PLCs as more dark factories come online and processes are updated to meet the demands of more automated processes that replace humans. Even robotic automatons will need some programming even if it's just specialized commands for an AI program running the thing.

A closer look shows millions of only semi-consumers are leaving (they deprive the economy of over $200 billion/yr in sales BWO remittances$$).
They are being replaced by Americans, who don't send $$$$$$ out of the country, but are full consumers, spending their money in US stores (aka the economy).
Major gain for the US economy.
