That's the opinion expressed by a multitude of prominent Israeli Jews today in a letter sent to The Guardian.

Sanctions would hurt the regime, the tool has been used on many brutal regimes over the years and there's no reason to treat this one any differently.

Good luck with that. I'm sure it is as mighty as an on-line petition.

Hostages? what use have they been? the Israelis have bombed schools and hospitals and houses for almost two years, they don't give a sh!t about hostages and never did.

I do not understand your logic.

Hostages do not prevent all attacks. They give negotiating leverage.

Hamas still has like 20 hostages. They are not likely to release them any time soon.

You have a child's understanding of this situation.

A Nazi child's.

Hamas could end the suffering today.
They could lay down their arms, and surrender.
They won't of course, and the left around the world won't place any demands that they do so.
The OP and the left, are Hamas sympathizers.
Typically, they won't admit it, but most of us know better.

Ohhhh just **** off already with that nonsense. Israel could get those hostages back if they would agree to make a ceasefire permanent. That was the original offer earlier this year and Israel refused to make a ceasefire permanent.

There are international observers from NGOS/nonprofits/UN-affiliated groups. There's absolutely no denying that Israel is committing horrific war crimes, with significant assistance from the United States.

Hamas has no future there. They could save the lives of thousands of so-called "Palestinians". Just lay down your arms, and surrender.

The problem, on one level is about trust, justice and the appearance of strength. There was no war on October 6. What changed? Hostages. If the hostages are returned, we go back to Oct. 6.

Is it that simple? Yes and no. But that Yes is undeniable.

Dumbass, Israel doesn't give a **** what Hamas does at this point. They have used the attacks on October 7th as a pretext to destroy Palestine's future, even though it probably never had much of a future to begin with. Israel was founded on ethnic cleansing, and it will expand on ethnic cleansing, and it will also use the United States to destabilize countries outside of Israel because Israel wants to be the dominant regional superpower in the Middle East.
