As a Marine Corps Vet, I was cringing a lot. Wishing I could unsee it.

The military doesn't march anymore. Once I left college ROTC, I never marched again in my Navy career. After my daughter left ROTC, she never marched again in her Army career. My son was infantry, and he never marched after he left his training pipeline except when he was a member of the US Army drill team and he marched about 8 hours a day, 6 days a week. He is the exception to the rule. There simply is no call for it.

How much close order drill did you do on ships while in the Marines?
