Why would a backup be needed?

The Republicans in the Senate should be clear that if one appointee goes down, the libs will smell blood in the water and it will provoke a feeding frenzy as they try to stop Trumpamania from running wild and fulfilling their mandate.

Trump made his choices because he has a plan and these are the best available people.

As much havoc as Gaetz will bring (in a good way, of course), Mike Davis would be their worst ******* nightmare.

Trump may be playing 4D chess and dangling Gaetz out there, hoping to get Mike Davis in.... they wouldn't dare reject his second choice for AG.
