You can still cook with a gas stove when the electricity is out. Gas heaters are better than electric heaters in my opinion. If the electric heater goes out it is going to get cold in those areas. A gas range will put out some heat. It is always good to have multiple ways of convenience. Including gasoline engines for autos.
