AOC blows past financial disclosure deadline, keeps fiancé’s finances off books

It never fails...far left liberal who lectures us on the evil wealthy class...and secretly uses their insider connections to make millions investing. AOC is just one more "do as I say...not as I do!" politician! She's not in Washington for the good of the people...she's there for the good of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez! When she leaves office she'll be filthy rich. (Emphasis on filthy!)

AOC blows past financial disclosure deadline, keeps fiancé’s finances off books

24 Aug 2025 ~~ By Gabrielle Fahmy

Absentee Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez isn’t just MIA in her own district – her mandatory 2024 financial disclosure documents were also missing for months.
Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was among lawmakers who asked for a 90-day extension when they first came due back in May, but she then missed the second deadline, The Post has learned.
The socialist lawmaker finally filed Wednesday, a week late.
The socialist lawmaker reported she has somewhere between $17,000 and $81,000 in bank accounts and owes $15,000 to $50,000 in student loans. The federal filings list finances in ranges.

Like fellow rank-and-file members of Congress, she earns an annual salary of $174,000.
The Bronx and Queens rep declared less than $1,000 in a brokerage account.
Notably absent from her disclosure — any sign of her partner of more than 10 years, fiancé Riley Roberts.
Ocasio-Cortez, 35, came under fire from the House Ethics Committee last month for calling Roberts, 37, her “spouse” on some ethics forms to receive perks such as travel and gala access, but leaving him off financial disclosures so she doesn’t have to disclose his assets.
“There is a reason Congress requires financial disclosures to include the spouses of members of Congress,” Dylan Hedtler-Gaudette, interim vp of policy and government affairs at the Project On Government Oversight, told The Post.
“If spousal disclosures were not required, it would be all-too easy to exploit that loophole and simply transfer any conflicted or problematic assets or financial activity into the spouse’s name.
“If her fiancée is going to avail himself of some of the perks and privileges of being the spouse of a member of Congress, he should surely have to likewise comply with the less convenient parts,” he said.
AOC identified Roberts as her “spouse” on forms filed this year when detailing trips to Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Italy — and previously in 2021 to secure a free $250 Met Gala ticket, where she infamously wore her $3,724 “Tax the Rich” dress.
Ocasio-Cortez, who got engaged to Roberts in Puerto Rico in 2022, has been tight-lipped about when they will say their “I do’s.” She did not return a request for comment.

Commentary:
It would be good for financial disclosures to have more detail.
For example, list out all property owned, balances of bank accounts or brokerage accounts, 401K, etc.
You could have a simple spreadsheet for each member of Congress. It would not even have to be that complicated a spreadsheet, to track the assets and liabilities of all these people.
I guess we could have an ethical debate as to whether these elected officials owe it to the American people , to disclose detailed financial information.
But I think many of us are quite curious, as to how some members of Congress earning $174K per year, somehow become multimillionaires in Congress.

Commentary:
If she has not released her financial disclosure, she should be expelled from the House.
What is strange is that such a simple disclosure would need to be submitted late by 4 months. As for the boyfriend, the rules need to be up to date with sociatal norms; people may no longer be married. So Congress members need to declare … let’s call them “partners”. If you have a partner, you have a financial disclosure. If you don’t have a partner, then they get no perks.
Something doesn't add up. It smells fishy. Middle class in New Yorkers don't have that amount in savings or the amount at hand in checking with bills, student loans kids. high taxes, and high rents, etc. something doesn't smell right.

Then what is this?
