Under the wooley mamooth it has a name that says Michael v. Something. It's cursive and I can't read what it says. Also the knife says carbon dated.

Carbon dated? It doesnt look very old. Am i wrong in thinking that the writing and mammoth are laser etched onto the blade?

There used to be a steel used in knives called Carbon V.

They make some really good replicas of the Dundee knife. Some are super legit with high quality steel that can go for $300+., but im skeptical of the quality of the ones that go for under $200.
