Anyone know how the building in Miami collapsed? This is insane to watch. LIVE UPDATES: Surfside, Florida apartment building collapse leaves 1 dead

This is horrific. There was a video of a high-rise building in China that shifted and swayed with the fear of collapse and people were running out. Shoddy workmanship and material is a major problem in China.

51 Unaccounted for and 1 confirmed dead thus far with 35 rescued.

One would hope and have to believe the construction of this building didn't use products from unreliable sources simply to save a few dollars. So, what could be the reason?

Miami-Dade County Commissioner Sally Heyman tells Fox News that as of 10 a.m. local time this morning, 51 people remain unaccounted for following the building collapse in Surfside.

A local resident tells WSVN that his family’s friends and their young daughter were inside the Champlain Towers South building when it collapsed this morning – and he has since been unable to make contact with them.
“I came running here trying to see what is going on and when I saw the building, I just couldn’t believe myself," he said. "I am just hoping that I am dreaming and the alarm sounds and I’m like ‘ok, it’s a dream, a bad dream’.”
Ask the Iranian Republican Guard that Biden just gave money too

Anyone else hear someone say "go" just before the video of the collapse begins?
Yea I heard that but it means nothing because the footage starts at the moment of collapse, we need the minute prior to see the puffs of smoke from the blast that caused the collapse

I don’t think this is ever happened outside of a Third World country. There is no excuse for something like this in the richest country in the world.

This is greed and avarice in action. I’m sure the people responsible for the construction of this building in the certification of its construction along since dead and can longer be held accountable.

This should never have happened

You do not know that the construction was responsible. Though the government will clearly blame the builder instead of the terrorist

Where are you reading that this was done via poor construction and/or shoddy materials?

This is the immediate government response which is to blame the builder and not Iran who routinely blows up oil refineries in the USA. That said every structure built by the builder in question would be evacuated and under review at this point if it was poor construction, and I doubt that this is happening

If this were a terror attack, there would be hell to pay. No way such an attack doesn't get leaked out. To not address it would welcome more attacks.

From what I have heard from eyewitness accounts though, the details match that of an internal, structural collapse. No explosion sounds were heard, nor any flash of light in the video I saw.

The conspiracy whack jobs have not blamed this as an inside job by the government yet? Where are the videos of the missile impacting the building?

Where did I say anything of the sort? I am poking fun at the conspiracy theorists who made ridiculous and stupid claims about the 9/11 attacks.

The Miami condo there are a couple of schools of thought emerging.

1. The building had a sinking problem in the 90’s

2 there was construction in the area.

3 sink hole it’s near the water

4 a bomb although I think they’d know if it was by now.

My money is on the sinking issue.
I wondered why I wasn’t seeing rescue workers all over that building shifting concrete. It’s because there’s a parking garage underneath that has more cavities for them to pass through to reach people. My prayers to the family and friends.

Miami Dade isn’t really known for sink holes like west central Florida.

It is actually 12 story, though, not 13.
Yes but it’s had a sinking problem in the past. It’s right near a beach. Here in CT we’ve also had sinking problems with buildings. Our local high school was built on swamp and had to be stabilized because it was sinking. Another school I went to as a kid which was also built on swamp land had a sinking problem. I can’t imagine what a 12 story condo with a sinking problem would be like but we may have just found out.

The entire beach area has been undergoing massive construction for the last 20 years or so.

I just saw an update. The first 3 floors "pancaked" or stacked with no air spaces between and only 2 survivors were removed from the pancsked rubble area. 102 are accounted for, 1 is dead, and 99 are not accounted for. There are about 75 rescuers on site. And there are 3 shifts anticipated until all are accounted for. It's a sad day for Surfside, FL. Prayers up.

Not just that but Cuba has reason...there are lots of muslims out here....BLM/antifa may be moving up to explosions get expensive whitey condos etc. Maybe a poor builder which means all condos built by them are a threat.....

Look at its location...probably a massive sink hole formed under the foundation....
Does not look like it had to be even be a massive sink-hole. By the design, it looks like one central outside pillar might be enough, if the drop was significant enough. Did you notice the proximity to the beach?

Remember all you can see is the failure outside the building, you can't see if anything failed inside first, especially since the entire structure didn't fail, and the rest remained standing.

Although I wouldn't want to go anywhere near the remaining structure.
I just learned of this half an hour ago, and the overall apparition of the many stories above look very dangerous to the many people who are trying to search and find survivors. I have to say, it looks grim for missing people. I hope some of those missing went to relatives homes before the firefighters and bean counters showed up. Praying that they will find more alive survivors than corpses. :hands:
