I got one when I retired, about 18 years ago, and it still looks brand new. I have had trouble sometimes with the top half not mating up perfectly with the bottom half when closed, we call it underbite, and it's hard to correct. It doesn't seal as well but I think I finally got it figured out now, by adjusting the bands. I guess it would last forever if you don't hit it with the lawnmower, had to replace the stand, but it's more than doubled in price since she bought me this one. It can do just about anything you ask it to do, and I use it year-round. If you like smoking and grilling this is a good way to go, but now the Kamado joe looks pretty good too. Prime rib on the rotisserie turns out really well, as does chicken and turkey.
