Anyone else notice "oldsters" working at fast food places?

Stopped by a McD to get the G. Grandkid a happy meal and the place was being run by almost all retirees getting it done.

I don't know their circumstances, maybe they planned poorly for retirement, just want to get out of the house, etc., but I'm happy about it. I know they are getting at least $15.00 an hour.

No mistakes made, order done timely manner, and these folks were super polite.....I like the trend.

Better than the local "felons are us" KFC.

LOL.....I think the local Wendys was bought-out by a family of "soup nazis" and provides top-notch service.

Many of these men are still working because their wives' want them out of the house.

My local grocery has a lot of disabled people working there. Kudos to them.

Yep. I hear from some that is a big problem.
Many of these old men no longer are interested in sex and their wives' don't need them sitting around the house.

My town has a crew of mentally handicaped adults sweeping the sidewalks and emptying the trash bins on main street every day if weather permits.

They take their break at the gazebo/park and local eateries bring them snacks and drinks.

Makes you smile. :)

No, I try never to eat at a fast food joint.

My good friend spent a career in health insurance. Today he's 65, retired, and drives a school bus. Loves it. He doesn't need the money. Me? I wouldn't drive a school bus for any amount of money.

I don't think those have hit my AO's fast food places yet but then again I don't go inside. Sheetz has had them for years.
I could see that. Its a lot of capex. I would go berserk if my favorite barbeque joints did that.

Now my turn. Sheetz?

Or they want out of the house. My brother-in-law-built sailboats to get away from my sister. He would build them, sail once or twice then sell them and start over.

There's an old guy at my McD's who takes the orders. I can't understand him any better than any of the kids.

Order taker: "Hmmmmfffuuloooo, yiiidwoooooo?
Me: "I'll have a McChicken sandwich."
