ACORN to Play Role in 2010 Census

The U.S. Census is supposed to be free of politics, but one group with a history of voter fraud, ACORN, is participating in next year's count, raising concerns about the politicization of the decennial survey.

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now signed on as a national partner with the U.S. Census Bureau in February 2009 to assist with the recruitment of the 1.4 million temporary workers needed to go door-to-door to count every person in the United States -- currently believed to be more than 306 million people.

A U.S. Census "sell sheet," an advertisement used to recruit national partners, says partnerships with groups like ACORN "play an important role in making the 2010 Census successful," including by "help[ing] recruit census workers."

The bureau is currently employing help from more than 250 national partners, including TARGET and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), to assist in the hiring effort.

I think conservatives are going to have to take a lesson from the ACLU and start infiltrating these organizations and take them over from within.

Has anything ever been proven that ACORN committed any crimes?

Or doesn't that matter.

You already have AEI for your infiltration group.:doubt:

Even a cursory review of the Internet will return tons of hits on ACORN operatives being charged with Felonies. What is more difficult, for whatever reason, is finding information on the outcome of their cases. Here's one I finally tracked down.

Eight employees of the Association of Community Reform Organizations Now (ACORN) have pleaded guilty to federal election fraud for submitting false registration cards for the 2006 election, authorities said Wednesday. Catherine Hanaway, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, said the employees submitted cards with false addresses and names, and forged signatures. The employees are Brian Bland, 23, Bobbie Jean Cheeks, 50, Cortez Cowan, 21, Golden Gibson, 21, Radonna Marie Smith, 24, Anthony Reliford, 21, Kenneth Williams, 21, and Tyaira Williams, 23, all from St. Louis. In March, Kenneth Williams was sentenced to 15 months in prison. The others are scheduled to be sentenced in June. Each faces as much as five years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines. The Fort Mill Times has more on the story here. In 2007, U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway issued a press release detailing the indictments.

Kiss my ass on the link If you find they weren't convicted, I'll eat crow. Until then, it's a fact. I saw the charges against this crew on a KC TV channel site. This is just follow up. Maybe Amanda can vouch for the outcome. She's from there.
