I had just started to realize that clinging to libertarianism wasn't getting me anywhere, so I reluctantly became a supporter of the GOP again.
Then when Trump announced his run, I said, "Come on, man! Don't troll the GOP primary for an elaborate prank. This election is too important."
I thought that he was a joke.
The more I saw of him, the more I realized that not only did he have the same goals for the U.S. as I did, he was far less likely to give lip service to them and then kowtow to the media as Establishment Republicans are so famous for doing.
He transformed the GOP into a party with a winning attitude, not just a "keep getting re-elected and don't worry about the American people" attitude.
