The American people aren't believing the story that Al Qaida has planted 160 nukes around the country, and now that Osama bin Laden is dead (for the 8th or 9th time) now they go back to what usually works on people who are ruled by their emotions: Fear of Guns:
From the NYDailyNews:
Looking down the barrel of terror: More and more, radical Islamists will wreak havoc with handguns
And here's the money shot:
As of 2007 there were more than one million people on the so called "terrorist watch list" and that list grows by an average of 20,000 a month! The list at one time included Nelson Mandela, Teddy Kennedy and a Marine Sgt who was on his way home from a deployment to Iraq!
But of course it's "common sense" and who would be against that?

See, this way they can slander anyone who owns a gun as a terrorist.
Some weapons were smuggled over the US/Mexican border and given to the Narco-Terrorists by the BATF there, but we won't mention that. Those words are especially concerning in the wake of Osama Bin Laden's death, as law enforcement officials keep a close eye out for potential lone wolf terrorists who might seek revenge. Some weapons were purchased legally, others at gun shows, on the streets or from private dealers. But with the exception of a handful of assassinations and bank robberies, most of these weapons were only used for practice.
And here's the money shot:
You see what they want? To put you on a list and use it as an excuse to take away your 2nd Amendment rights. The time is long overdue to, at the very least, integrate terrorist watch lists with background checks for gun buyers. It's not a perfect or complete solution, but it is common sense.
