NEW YORK -- The 911 call that led New Jersey State Police to stop a van filled with Queens students on the New Jersey Turnpike last fall came from one of the students riding in the van, officials said today.
Police this morning arrested the 19 year old accused of making the bogus call.
Despite allegations the troopers used excessive force and targeted the teenagers because they are black and Hispanic, State Police officials have said they only pulled over their van because a 911 call reported armed men at a Turnpike rest stop.
Today they arrested one of those teenagers, Rodney Tanzymore, of Queens, and charged him with the third degree crime of creating a false public alarm for making that call on Nov. 21

These scumbags should be forced to pay restitution to the taxpayers for the waste of manpower that goes into these bogus allegations. But instead this kid will get a slap on the wrist.
Civil rights lawyer William Buckman, who has filed numerous discrimination lawsuits against the State Police, is working with the group, Safe Space NYC. He said the stop constituted an “excessive use of force and an illegal detention.”
