There are a lot of dangers that we face in today’s world. Thugs, Muslim jihadists, natural disaster, texting drivers, etc. None, however, is more dangerous the the combination of 2 year old kids, and unfenced swimming pools, To say that it is common to hear about 2 year olds drowning in pools, would be an understatement.

2 year old kids are old enough to walk around, but typically, not yet old enough to be able to swim. That makes the swimming pool a huge danger to them. At least it’s a danger if the pool has no fence around it, or the kid’s guardian isn’t paying CLOSE attention.

Be advised parents/guardians. If you have a 2 year old, and a swimming pool (or you neighbor does), and it is unfenced, you are playing with dynamite.

We have a pool and also a pool alarm that will sound if a child falls into it.

I think its the insurance companies, isnt it? I know with mine, i had to send them proof of a deck and gate before they would insure me

Infants have an instinct that they lose as they get older. They hold their breath when under water. So I taught my children how to swim while they were still in diapers. I can't imagine not knowing how to swim. We were in the pool every day in the summer when I was a kid.

Did that with my first son and he was less than a year old.
You could let him go it the water and he would swim to the side

Me either. I don't even remember being taught, or a time when I couldn't swim. Parents should start teaching their children from the moment they start getting about.
