OK, this video is long and I usually dislike long, but I also posted that I do try to watch these videos/movies that are posted irregardless of who posts them. I usually watch these with my 'bell' on. You know, the one that rings with truth. Well this one does ring with a lot of truth. I cannot remember who posted it (maybe Amity?), but here's the link:
Anyways, I have a few dis jointed observations about this video.
One that really sticks in my mind is that (since it covers the period up until the 1948 declaration) it is repeatedly said that it wasthe British that did all the bad things to and for the Palestinians decline and woes. Sure it mentions the 'Zionists', but over and over again it says that it was the British who actually did the 'bad' things to the Palestinians. Maybe the Palestinians should blame the British instead of the Jews/Israelis? Especially since this was a pretty much pro Palestine movie.
It lays heavily to blame the Balfour declaration, yet fails to mention a single word about the McMahon-Hussein agreement. What you say? This one:
The McMahon Agreement
Farther on down the line, it totally skips over the Hebron Massacre of 1929:
1929 Hebron massacre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Then it goes on to talk about the amount of Jews allowed to immigrate in Palestine, claiming the highest year during those times: 1935. No mention of how the British put the kibosh on it afterwards, but of course did mention the bombing of the one boat (sorry, cannot remember) to, as it said, strike up sympathy.
And yes, the Irgun, the Palmach, and others were a dark mark on Israel because of course, the bombing of the King David hotel is highlighted.
However, the other things are also mentioned in this video; how the Palestinians have never had any one who would actually stand for them without removing their tribal loyalty (kind of like most of the Muslim/Islamic world); what I mean is that they never could organize then and never will. I'll just leave that there, 'nuff said.
The best part for me was the parting shot by the British speaker to the UN when the British decided to give up their 'Mandate', (the latter part of which of course is left out of said documentary) he said that the British were tired of the hatred from the Jews, and the Arabs.
You see, even when you get a video posted by the 'other guys' one only has to actually watch it to fill it full of holes.
Let the ....... begin.
p.s. I forgot to address the Peel commission, maybe I'll save that for another post.
