I made the point here some time ago that Jesus still suffers in his people (persecution, rejection, etc) and so He is still on the Cross...

Not long ago, I read a book on Padre Pio that confirmed this. He had the Stigmata, and could read hearts in confession, often knowing people's sins better than they themselves could recall... SO strange...

Anyway, Padre Pio was once visited by Jesus, who told Him the following (can't say this is verbatim but almost):

"Everyone thinks that My sufferings ended with the Resurrection, but My sufferings will last until the end of the world."

Poor Jesus...

I hope your sins are not making Him suffer egregiously.

I think scoffers' laughter will end when they die (unless they repent)

Keep believing what you like , but that's not the way this Universe works .
Every single light photon is part of Universe -- as is the number that make the Essene Monk and exactly as the numbers that separately make you and me .
You are no more or less important than the Essene .
But in our form of life - time "he" became Universe before you. And me .

No one can understand your rants. Why don't do something constructive rather than coming on the forums and making inane, disjointed comments?

Maybe you could take up knitting?

It only makes sense that Jesus would be suffering that long, although this is incredibly hard to believe - that the Father would allow such a thing. Well, the Father allows truckloads of disasters to happen to His people, so maybe we need someone to go through it all with us?

I had noticed that you had not been blessed upstairs .
Get a friend to help you translate my very helpful post .

BTW , check on the meaning of the term , Rant .
It is obviously not what you think .
Similar to your ignorance about Universe .

I am not going to read through a bunch of... disconnected thoughts. Maybe you should try making ONE point at a time...

but with your bad attitude, I probably will still abstain

I hope you find Jesus. We are all incomplete and messed up w/o Him...

Christ paid for our sins, all of them, on the cross. It is a fait accompli. There is absolutely no reason for Him to remain in a state of suffering.

Forked, you believe all these man made explanations instead of the trusting the Word. You should know exactly where Christ is and what He is doing. He is resting, at the right hand of His Father, while He intercedes in our behalf:
Romans 8:34 Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the one who died, but even more, has been raised; he also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us.
If there is a man, who says he can see a man's heart, either he is lying or the Bible is lying:
Samuel 16:7 The Lord does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.

There is no reason to believe Christ is still suffering, since we are given His demeanor a mere 3 days after He finished His work on the cross. He stood on the shore and watched His men fish. He cooked breakfast for them. He stayed with them for 40 days. And there was pure joy.

People (non-Catholics) are wondering how a Catholic priest could do miracles, read minds in confession (know people's sins in detail)

Why would God allow a CATHOLIC to do those things? Aren't Catholics not really Christian?

Well, Pio was truly Catholic, for one thing. What we have today are a lot of imposters............. etc, etc

A soul in Purgatory appears before Padre Pio to ask him to offer a Mass for the release of his soul from Purgatory

But wait, there is no Purgatory! (say the protesters)

Well, the Father of Protestantism Luther threw out the Book of Maccabees from the Old Testament, along w/ 6 other Books retained by the Catholic Church (not the Vatican, where the RCC no longer abides but the true Catholic Church).

In Maccabees, we are shown how the Jews prayed for the soldiers who died in one of their wars, "that they may be loosed from their sins."

Then there is a book the Protestants still have, Matthew. In Mt 1823 we find the parable Jesus told of the man who was forgiven of his debts, only to turn around and refuse to forgive his fellow man (of a smaller debt). Theologians are not sure this is the best scripture psg to indicate Purgatory but it does say UNTIL... The man was punished for not forgiving after he had been forgiven but possibly only punished (by the torturers [demons] UNTIL he had paid back all the debt that had once been forgiven. Some scholars say that someone like this who utterly refuses to forgive does not make it even to Purgatory... which makes sense.

However, there are other passages that allude to Purgatory. I think it is Corinthians that mentions how one can be saved even if his / her work is not adequate. I'll try to find it.

Here it is: 1Cor3:13-15

RE Purgatory (purification after death - before entering Heaven)

1 Corinthians 3 â–º

Douay-Rheims Bible

11
For other foundation no man can lay, but that which is laid; which is Christ Jesus. 12Now if any man build upon this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble: 13Every man's work shall be manifest; for the day of the Lord shall declare it, because it shall be revealed in fire; and the fire shall try every man's work, of what sort it is. 14If any man's work abide, which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15If any man's work burn, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire.

Note: This is not meant to imply that we can do sloppy work for God, presuming on His ultimate forgiveness... We have to stay faithful to Jesus until the end and do the best we can for the kingdom. That doesn't mean we will be perfect, though Mt 5:48 calls us to be perfect as God is perfect. The imperfect will experience a form of fire (Purgatory/purgation) but will be saved "as by fire" so he or she can enter Heaven, where "no unclean thing will enter" (Revelation)

All these miracles (incorrupt body after death), the Stigmata, and so on

And still protesters insist that Catholicism is not Christian

Wow... that's some obstinate religion y'all got there..

15th post
So Padre Pio says basically that you cannot get to Heaven w/o suffering...

That sounds odd, even to this lifelong Catholic, and yet, if you think about it:

If Jesus is suffering until the end of the world, why do humans always think that they should have a great life with as little suffering as possible?

Yet, that is what most Americans seem to think and others as well.
