WHY they are there does not address our failure to properly secure an exit stratagy for those that were there when we left. There would be an argument to be had that this is all on them had we done an orderly withdrawal and gave all our allies, citizens and Afghani's we were working with time and opportunity to evacuate.

Instead we did none of that. What they were there for does not alleviate us of our basic responsibility to do shit correctly particularly when failing to do so means torture and death. It very well means that for a many people left behind.
