In the UK, you can legally protect yourself with a feather, fists, knife, gun, nuclear bomb etc..

What it is we have the -

You don't even have to wait before being attacked. So I can only assume many Americans think we don't have self defence because we don't immediately default to shooting the other person.

Hands up who's learnt something new!

I learned in england you can not defend your family in your own home.

When a criminal breaks into your home, you must not do a thing or you will be prosecuted.

That's crazy, but I'm not surprised to learn that it's supposedly the "civil" countries who would punish the homeowner for self-defending against a criminal intruder.

It should be an automatic death penalty for anyone breaking into a home.

I should be able to kill anyone who breajs into my home, no questions asked

His reasonable force puts burglars in hospital, lol

How so? That was an idea not a policy. I guess for democrats ideas are dangerous.

Even the idea that a 8 year old boy should be protected in his home.
The gun debate is about folk getting shot, and you want to shoot others. That's the wrong type of person to own a firearm.

Want to shoot? You are the wrong person to be in this debate.

I said we ahould ahoot people in our house to protect our children and you are saying wanting to protect the life of a child is the wrong type of person to own a gun.

Americans have firearms, and we still use incredible restraint against scumbag criminals.

You don't tie one hand behind someone's back and then brag about your policy. UK sucks.

The world doesn't expect Americans to grasp reasonable force. In a boxing match, you would expect it to be reasonable if both had boxing gloves, gun shields, and jockstraps. Why not replace one guys gloves with a baseball bat? Straight to gun is an American dream.
