Unless we can pry the schools from them, as earlier American pried their slaves from them.....America is lost.

Um. Well it's worse than that.

Our destruction is not FROM the schools, but IN the schools. I do not mean the children. The children I teach are just children. They can't be blamed for their parents, our society, etc.

The situations they come from, the parenting styles in vogue--just no. If you dare, look up "gentle parenting". Even IF you have children coming from stable homes, they are likely being negotiated with nonstop. And that's just one problem, because most of them are from non-stable homes.

So yes, the schools might be a mess, but it's what happens before schools, in the homes, that gives me almost no hope at all.
