These people are hilarious about we are going to save the environment. While cutting down thousands of acres of forest to make a road to go hang out for a climate summit in the Amazon.

You mean all that money raised to protect the Amazon when I was younger didn't protect the Amazon? Color me shocked.

The freaking hypocrite greenies criticize Americans who drive gas guzzling cars and trucks but they think nothing of jetting around the world to promote extortion from Uncle Sam.

It's a long article, but here are the most important parts.

Environmental hypocrites are cutting down the rain forest, flying on airplanes, and destroying the livelihoods of indigenous people.

Amazon forest felled to build road for climate summit

March 12, 2025

A new four-lane highway cutting through tens of thousands of acres of protected Amazon rainforest is being built for the COP30 climate summit in the Brazilian city of Belém.

Diggers and machines carve through the forest floor, paving over wetland to surface the road which will cut through a protected area.

Claudio Verequete lives about 200m from where the road will be. He used to make an income from harvesting açaí berries from trees that once occupied the space.

“Everything was destroyed,” he says, gesturing at the clearing.

“Our harvest has already been cut down. We no longer have that income to support our family.”

He says he has received no compensation from the state government and is currently relying on savings.

“We were born and raised here in the community. Where are we going to go?”

Scrutiny is growing over whether flying thousands of them across the world, and the infrastructure required to host them, is undermining the cause.

You know they might want to do a teams meetings or maybe a zoom for this. Versus cutting down more of the rainforest to build a road for these people to go visit for a little bit and then go on jungle excursion vacation

It aims to ease traffic to the city, which will host more than 50,000 people - including world leaders - at the conference in November. Amazon rainforest cut down to build highway for COP climate summit
I think they do this on purpose, its not accidental. Think they are showing us only the little people will have to sacrifice while the important people can do as they want.

You are correct (don't let it go to your head) this does seem quit hypocritical.

This has to be among the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. Flying all these people around the world in giant private jets polluting like crazy, then damaging part of the Amazon rain forest--- the single biggest contributor to regulating our climate--- in order for a few dozen jackasses to get together and have a meeting on climate change they could all do staying at home doing it over Skype on a computer.

I trust Trump will blow this off.
