Because I'm pompous and think my tastes are worthy of emulating, I want to share with you all my favorite country acts ... that you've probably never heard of. :)

I mean, is there a better line than "I was born in the spring time of the '57 Chevy"?
 
My dad drove a truck for four or five years. And I went with him on some of his runs. So this song might lean a little too much on truck driving metaphors, but you can mostly understand what he's getting at. FWIW, diesel fuel tanks were (maybe still are) prone to condensation, which could cause the motor to seize up if the situation wasn't resolved. Usually by adding more pure fuel.

Also, it's a bitch to turn around an 18-wheeler if you get stuck down a dead end road ...

 
Im out of the loop, when I was a kid sometimes my mom would play Conyway Twitty, Loretta Lynne,. Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers etc. A few others that slipped my.mind.

Yeah. Somewhat quietly, there's been an undercurrent of artists keeping the real spirit of country music alive.
