Alberta Independence is Inching Forward; Glenn Beck Says the Trump Administration is Ready to Recognize Alberta as an Independent Country

Oh goody! A Canadian civil war!

No battles, just hurling really nice insults at each other.

"You're a few trees short of a forest, eh?"

"Oh, good one! I say you win this battle, eh?"

"Thank you. See you next week for the bloodbath, eh?"

.

I highly doubt that Alberta for all of its grievances separates.

If Trump publicly said he would recognize them and Saskatchewan and negotiate a trade agreement with them it would be a shocking show-stopper no question.

Don't bet on it. The problem with us is that we are offering less and less to the world in terms of innovation. I hope Carney changes this but considering how ambitious some of us were only to be destroyed by the covert Creepy Ones, I don't have faith in our system.

Trump at least understands the little guy. He pardoned the J6 people when they were treated unfairly. He is willing to listen to the stories of people put away for 30 years for marijuana cases, It's absurd and I personally think it was a big contributor to his support from the black community in 2024.

We need government to listen and yes, as elected officials to stop allowing the wolves to have their way with us. I do NOT see Alberta separating but I live in Ontario so who knows? There is definitely serious discontent there though.
Great post. 👍

I think this belongs here. Yeah, Alberta is a Canadian Province and nobody really cares much about Canada but our POTUS says he will recognize it as an Independent Country, that makes it about American Politics.

Now, whether this is true or is it just Glenn Beck being Glenn Beck is another story. But it is worth talking about, regardless.

I also gotta wonder..... How many more steps will it take before Alberta asks to be admitted to the Union? It's happening, people

“Independence rally at Alberta Legislature could see tens of thousands” [Juno News – 10/21/2025]

Whatever Canada might have once been in the 20th century, that country is gone. The population of the Toronto metro area is now less than 50% Canadian-born, and Vancouver is little different. There is no expectation that immigrants assimilate or become culturally Canadian, because Canada’s own political leadership rejects the legitimacy of the country. As has been written before, “Canada’s strange political experiment is showing signs of collapse. The ruling class in Ottawa derides the very existence of their country — obsessed with ‘stolen land’ narratives and hostile to their own national culture. Their last remaining shred of civic unity is anti-Americanism.”

The prairie provinces have nominal political influence in the national government and they’re not anti-American. They’re treated like colonies or territories at best, and they deserve independence. I am glad to hear that recognition from the Trump administration is ready and waiting as soon as Alberta declares itself independent.

There isn’t a chance in hell Alberta will separate. And legally they cannot simply opt out of confederation.

Even if the Province held an election and decided to leave Canada, most of the land in Alberta is either indigineous reservations or disputed indigineous lands and the Chiefs will NEVER vote to become beholding to the most openly racist national on earth, regardless of what Danielle Smith wants to do.

At this point, Smith couldn’t get elected dog catcher in Alberta. Most Canadians, even in Alberta, want nothing to do with either independence or being part of the USA.

Smith’s approval ratings have dropped 5 points from June to September, and they still in free fall.

As for Alberta being an “abused” province, their multi-billion Heritage Fund allows them to have the lowest personal tax rates in Canada, but they continually whine about not getting a “fair shake”. They have a population of just over 5 million, while Ontario has just over 16 million.
