The family and friends of a Birmingham woman are pleading with the community to help them keep her in Alabama after she was detained this week during a traffic stop.

“On the morning of Tuesday August 5th, Giovanna [Martinez] was driving to work when a Leeds officer pulled her over for going 1 mile over the speed limit,” reads a GoFundMe set up by her brother Dilan Hernandez to cover Martinez’s legal expenses.

“What should have been a regular traffic stop, turned into something much worse as an ICE agent arrived closely thereafter. In less than an hour she was processed and taken into ICE custody.”

Leeds police on Thursday issued a statement disputing that account.

Chief Paul Irwin said the traffic stop was made on Tuesday at about 7:44 a.m. on Interstate 20 when an unmarked Leeds vehicle was passed by a Honda sedan “at a high rate of speed of over 80 mph.

“The vehicle came within feet of striking other vehicles and erratically changed lanes. A marked unit with the Leeds Police Department stopped the vehicle,” Irwin’s statement continued.

“The driver did not have a driver’s license, but instead identified herself with a Mexico issued (identification) card. Pursuant to our policy, Detectives contacted our federal partners, who informed Detectives that the female was in the United States of America illegally.

“Our federal partners responded to the scene and took custody of the driver. This vehicle was stopped because she posed a danger to the public by driving in a reckless manner.”

Irwin said it was “unfortunate that the driver had not taken the steps necessary to remain in our country legally.”

So, she was not actually a "Birmingham woman", she is Mexican woman. Here illegally.

So, an "immigration advocate" is actually an illegal alien. Who knew? Yeah, all of us.

Way more moaning and groaning at the link.

I've also noticed that the MSM has started using the term "native" to describe illegals.

Why do these people lie when they know it will be uncovered these days?

She's a native of Sioux Falls? Meaning she was born there. But she wasn't. It's a lie.

Advocating for people to just wander into the nation without being properly vetted, isn't "pro-immigrant," it's pro illegal-migration." A nation without borders and border control ceases to be an actual nation and instead, a "free-for-all." To be an immigrant you actually have to go through the immigration process. If you want to claim asylum, you have to go to a border checkpoint to be properly vetted.
Because of the previous administration's no real borders policy, we got cartel members, illegal-drugs, sex-traffickers, child predators, individuals fleeing their homelands to avoid prosecution for crimes committed, rapists, murderers, habitual thieves and dangerous gang members with long records in their own nation's.
