The upcoming Omer Al Bashir-Salva Kiir summit scheduled to convene in Juba tomorrow would focus on the implementation of the agreed cooperation protocols and the outstanding issues, notably that of Abyei. The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs valuated the summit, saying it would considerably push forward the implementation of these protocols. â The continued consultations between the two presidents would impress on the international community the positive progress of the two countries bilateral relation, hence this would help with relief of their debts and extending economic aid to them,â said the Sudanese foreign ministry spokesperson. The importance of the visit as seen by the spokesperson lies in the policy of communication at the highest levels which will in turn speed up the momentum of fully normalizing relations in all fields.
President Al Bashirâs visit to Juba, the second in less than two months comes within a series of visits exchanged between officials in the two countries, he said, a reference to Sudanâs minister of interior last month visit to Juba during which agreement was reached to implement the four freedoms and opening of crossings, with parallel efforts on-going to resume exchange of trade.
For his part, South Sudan ambassador to Sudan told Sudan Vision that President Al Bashir one-day visit to Juba tomorrow would give the go-ahead signal for the implementation of the agreements signed since 2012, in addition to resolving the Abyei issue.
