A thread 🧵

Al-Banna along with his close friend and founder of the Palestinian national movement, Amin al-Husseini, recruited tens of thousands of Muslims to serve under the Nazi army. Al-Banna recruited thousands in Egypt, while al-Husseini recruited thousands from Balkan countries.

This is not a bit surprising. Recall that the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem traveled to Nazi Germany to meet with Hitler in November 1941. Among other things, he wanted Hitler's support for the “removal” of the proposed Jewish homeland in "Palestine." Hitler confirmed that the “struggle against a Jewish homeland in Palestine” would be part of the struggle against the Jews. Hitler added that the “goal at that time would be the annihilation of Jewry living in Arab space under the protection of British power.”

The Grand Mufti offered to form an Arab Legion to fight for Hitler.

Nowadays the goal of driving the Jews out of "Palestine" is supported by many woke liberals, the same folks who carry signs praising Hamas and condemning Israel.

Until relatively recently, you could still find editorials in Arab newspapers that praised Hitler or that minimized Hitler's crimes and that denied the Holocaust. Holocaust denial is still quite prevalent in Iran and among radical Muslim groups. Some radical leftists in America and Europe have begun flirting with Holocaust as a result of their hatred of Israel.

In fact, we have a member of this forum who has recently argued that there would never been any wars in the Middle East since 1948 if the lousy Jews had not been allowed to establish a homeland in Israel.
