And now we are in a war with massive deficits, $110 oil and recession hurtling towards us. Good job!
Young people today never experienced being in a war wherin the enemy was a threat to the survival of America. In 20 years of fighting in Iraq & Afghanistan, 7000 Americans were killed, and some people flipped out over that. All that is BAD, of course.
BUT..............................
In the European Battle of the Bulge in World War 2, 19,246 AMERICANS WERE KILLED
IN ONE MONTH.
In the Japanese Battle of Okinawa, US deaths numbered 12,500, IN 2 MONTHS. Over 150,000 Japanese died (most of them committed suicide)
Young Americans born long after the end of World War 2, have no recollection of what it was to be in a war where USA SURVIVAL was at stake.
OMG, $110 oil. During WW2, Americans were limited to 4 gallons of gas per week, and on the west coast they had to keep lights off at night.
