Aeroponics – The Way To Farm?

Not hydroponics but still a way of growing plants without soil. It looks interesting but I wonder how cost effective it is.

Wish we'd make local farming a thing again like during WWII with rationing. With climate change destroying the world unchecked, famine is a likely result in our future. I think we're going to be needing old knowledge like subsistance farming, hunting, living off the land, building dwellings, and various things industrialized nations have lost but for a small number of do-it-yourselfers once more as things stop working more and more.
