Advise To Palestinians

Nice article polarbear, very instructive. They get the propellant from fertilizer that Israel provides, let me guess, for the Palestinians to use as fertilizer. The blockade doesn't hurt the Jihadists much, only the regular population, etc. good stuff.

As for the show: Ani rotseh lishtot beera bevakasha.
Can you read German or was that as you say a guess?
"let me guess Israel provides, let me guess, for the Palestinians to use as fertilizer. The blockade doesn't hurt the Jihadists much, only the regular population, etc."

These terrorists replied to Ulrike Putz almost exactly what you just said here.
I`m still amazed how much nerve she had and how she managed to exploit the fact that these guys liked to brag, but then again she is a women and the terrorists tried to impress her.
First they stuck a pistol against her head just to see if she gets scared and when she did not flinch they were comparing her to the virgins they get as a reward when they go to Djihad heaven.
I`m sure they would have pulled the trigger had they known that Ulrike`s current job makes it necessary to reside in Israel as one of "Der Spiegel`s" investigative reporters.
This is what they were bragging about when she asked how they get this stuff:
Auf einem Gaskocher steht ein Suppenkessel bereit, an der Wand hoch liegen hebräisch beschriftete Säcke gestapelt. "Dünger für den Raketentreibstoff", sagt Abdul und grinst. "Beziehen wir aus Israel."
Abdul grinned and said that they get the fertilizer directly from Israel.
It`s not smuggled in from Egypt.
He joked about Egypt:
Ulrike writes,...: tonight only 3 of Abdul`s men showed up to make rockets.
The rest are in Egypt "shopping".
Ulrike asked to get supplies to build more rockets?
Abdul replied, "Hell no we got enough supplies to last us for years to come, they are there to get potato chips and stuff like that, after all we are human too"
Ulrike did get it out of him how they get the rest of the materials to build the rockets
"Das TNT zum Beispiel kommt aus dem Sudan über Ägypten zu uns." Andere Bauteile gelangten per Boot übers Meer nach Gaza. "Wir beziehen einiges aus Osteuropa." Bis zu 500 Dollar koste das Rohmaterial für eine große Kassam. Das Geld, mit dem sie finanziert würden, nehme denselben Weg die Materialien. "Die Blockade der Israelis trifft uns nicht, die soll nur die Bevölkerung ins Elend stürzen."
The TNT which they use as a warhead on these rockets comes from Sudan and is the only component which is smuggled through the tunnels.
All the rest, the Glucose which they mix with the fertilizer to propel these rockets, the steel tubes and the money to pay for everything arrives by boat...Abdul laughed while he said "Israel`s blockade does not affect us in any way it`s designed so it only causes a lot of misery for the general population"

My take on this is that this is exactly what these terrorists want to wage their propaganda war and it seems to work.
Every time Israel retaliates it`s all over the so called "main stream" media and who can forget how they all bashed Israel when they intercepted this "freedom flotilla".
Abdul has no qualms whatsoever with the IDF shelling Gaza or if they drop precision guided bombs from fighter jets which cause collateral damage...it`s fodder for the international press...what really scares him ist that:
die wahre Gefahr aber seien die Kampfhubschrauber der Israelis, sagt Abdul. "Wir wissen, dass wir leichte Beute sind."
It`s the helicopters Israel deploys to hunt them down, Abdul says "we are an easy prey for these..."

So I`m not really overly surprised that the IDF decided not to carpet bomb & shell Gaza again as in operation "Cast Lead" which was a public relations disaster like the "Freedom Flotilla" intercept.

Should they decide to choose the method Abdul fears the most, the helicopters, it would not be spectacular enough to feed the propaganda news frenzy which is what the likes of Abdul are trying to inflame.

I`m pretty sure that the people in Israel who decide what kind of response is most effective know what was in this "Der Spiegel" article long before Der Spiegel published it...and they are not as stupid as to be yet again a pawn in a game of chess the way Abdul and his friends would like to play it

polarbear, I used Google translate to translate and read the whole first page. I just picked two of the items to respond to, figured that everyone else should take a little time like I did.

My guessing part is what the ammonium nitrate from Israel means. Do they steal it straight from Israel or does Israel provide it to the Palestinians to be used as fertilizer and Hamas steals it thus for the missiles?

Pretty amazing what you can do with Google these days.
This Abdul did not mention that they had to steal it and if I had to guess I would say that they don`t have to.
If there are people who volunteer their kids to be terrorists then they can`t have much of a problem to get the fertilizer from a Palestinian farmer.
The way they were bragging how much of that stuff they have and how easily the cash flows to them leads me to believe that at least one farmer decided it`s easier to "make a living" (by helping to kill) selling them Ammonium Nitrate by the truckloads rather than using it to grow crops.

I`m not sure why they get explosive grade Ammonium Nitrate from Israel to fertilize ficticous crops. There are other fertilizers that contain Nitrogen and can`t be used to make explosives or propellants.

But with the way the UN works and what kind of countries are sitting on the human rights council who knows if it`s considered an undue "hardship" if Palestinian farmers can`t get fertilizer "to feed their hungry".

Perhaps Israel wants to keep supplying it and who would know if they embed a transponder chip in these bags....like what we use on some supermarket items or tracking a lost pet.

These would remain silent unless excited with a specific rf-signal, say from one of these helicopters Abdul fears the most.

Unlike Abdul, Israel would not brag about it if that`s what they do....and it`s quite unlikely that the IDF has not considered that possibility...it`s a routine procedure to track objects which are used by criminals and the only way the likes of Abdul would catch on if the IDF makes it too obvious.

But I`m just guessing here, "Der Spiegel" has not offered any opinions either how come Palestinians can get Ammonium Nitrate by the truckloads from Israel.
It`s a magazine that built it`s reputation on fact finding and generally refrains from putting a spin on their reporting.
Der Spiegel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Der Spiegel is known in German-speaking countries mostly for its investigative journalism.
Der Spiegel is one of continental Europe's most influential magazines.[5]

As of 2010, Der Spiegel was employing the equivalent of 80 full-time fact checkers, which the Columbia Journalism Review called "most likely the world's largest fact checking operation".http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Der_Spiegel#cite_note-8

It took decades for Spiegel to build their reputation and they don`t have the luxury to speculate like I just did here.
