What is the purpose of "admin" posts to which you cannot post a response?

Well to all you who've 'wondered...' Jim added it as a news source. He was good enough to bump it off of 'new posts', though it shows on the default 'new messages' link.

It's news source only, not respondable. No jim or other admin. Just admin, he gets no credit, no increase in post count...

The purpose is a service to post news articles of intersts and possible discussion in the appropriate forums.

It is done by an automatic system. That is why you did not receive a timely response. The person who controls the admin account is temporarly out.
