It looks like the NYSDOCCS has no choice now. They have begun termination proceedings for any Corrections Officer who hasn't reported for duty in the last 11 days. I was afraid this would happen, but the strikers DID violate the Taylor Law over the objections of even their union.
 
Unions really haven't been needed since the 1950s.
 
Those who went on strike for all that we know may already have new jobs by now so who cares if they have been terminated from the job that they just left?

Yeah, the average worker is doing so well he can't afford to buy a house. I understand that union leadership can be just as corrupt as management, but what else can be done about low wages?
