Trump is talking about nationalizing elections and this morning on GMA little georgie said trump is lying when he says the federal govt can do that. George claims the constitution says election rules are set by the states only . They showed chuck schumer saying the same thing. But article 1 section 4 says:

The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and
Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof;
but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except
as to the Place of Chusing Senators.

He's partly correct -- states have plenary power to determine the method of chusing their electors.

But for House members and Senators, the federal government has the power to make all kinds of rules.
