Don't you guys ever end this crap? We have the rules of the Old and New testaments. People either follow it or do they don't. Mix that with people after Christianity started, added their own rules to it which affected beliefs to some degree. Empathy, sympathy and compassion is the New Testament. However, being a sucker is not part of it. And that is the conundrum we have with helping people. The Old Testament is more direct with the reality of how humans are.

There is certainly no shortage of examples throughout history of religions that have become at least partially distorted and soiled by those who (claim to) represent or follow it.

A religion can be a source of answers, comfort, strength, hope, many good and positive things. But it can also be perverted, politicized and weaponized just as easily.

When I see a religion follow a man who is essentially the opposite of that very religion's savior, I know that something has gone horribly wrong. And I know that many within the religion feel exactly the same way.
