A friend and I watched with mixed horror and amusement as the media covered the Flint lead poisoning story. People were running around frantic about not having any safe drinking water at least. As they trudged through a layer of fresh snow all over the ground, with more falling from the sky as on-scene reporters covered the scoop.

Of course this isn't a permanent solution...but it is January, in the upper Midwest and, fresh water is lying around in everyone's front and back yard aplenty. At the very least, mothers with infants should be told to gather snow, place it in a pot near a heater or source of ambient heat in their home and mix that for formula or just for basic drinking water for little kids...the most susceptible to lead.
Then the area can get its act together before the last snowfall and not have lead for its citizens to drink.
Snow: folks, it's made of water that was distilled into clouds and falls pure to the earth. You're welcome..
