Not meant to start anything, but who exactly is the leader of the Democratic Party at this point?
Is it Schumer? Pelosi? Warren? Sanders? Perez?
Still Obama?
Who is setting the standard? Just looking for a focal point.
Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any central authority for the Democrat party.

In the US political parties are very decentralized. You have the party’s primary organization apparatus, the Democratic National Committee chaired by former Secretary of Labor Tom Perez. Then you have the several state party committees which function as their own parties for legal purposes, hence why Minnesota’s is called the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and North Dakota’s is called the Democratic-Nonpartisan League. In places like New York, Democrats are very disjointed with mainstream Democrats, Independent Democrats which caucus with Republicans in the state legislature, and then there’s the Working Families Party which, while it’s own party, basically functions as a more progressive wing for the party.
This is why the DNC and state committees cannot be said to represent the Democratic Party alone. You also have elected officials on the local, state, and federal level who represent a branch of party politics. And they often form caucuses within the party to accommodate blocs of voters or with other officials elected to promote common interests, such as Democratic Governors Association or the House Progressive Caucus. Leaders here might include the House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
Then you have Democratic voters, whether registered and independent, who make up the soul of the party. This often comes in alliance with activist organizations and interest groups. This includes spontaneous and organized grassroots movements. MoveOn.org, BlackLivesMatter, #MeToo, Democratic Socialists of America, Let America Vote, Human Rights Campaign, and other groups are included. Blocs of the electorate who revolve their support around particular politicians and candidates such as Bernie Sanders, who happens to be the most popular politician in the US, and therefore a de facto leader among the Democratic base.
All this said, until the 2020 primaries are over, Democrats won’t have a singular figure to unify and lead the party.
I heard this morning that Chris Matthews is out degrading demos for being elitists. haahahahahahahaha
Chris Matthews: Democratic Party Elitism 'Outrageous' | National Review
"MSNBC host Chris Matthews said on Tuesday’s
Morning Joe that the Democratic party’s level of elitism is “outrageous.”
“There’s too many elitists. There is so much elitism in the Democrat party, it’s so outrageous,” Matthews said. “Too many galas. People are tired of it.”
The panel was discussing how the Democratic party has ceased to be Robert F. Kennedy’s party of the “common man.”
“A true democrat, lower case ‘d,’ thinks they’re no better than anybody else. That’s what a Democrat is,” Matthews said. “And the party regains that when white, black, hispanic people, everybody, starts to think of themselves as one of them instead of being better than them. [Then] they’ll get back to the party of the people, and they’re not there yet.”
Matthews added that the problem was not just that Democrats had failed to focus on economic issues that matter to voters."
