I was reading the comments to a below video link and came across someone's comment to the video. I thought her comment was worth posting here. Her name is Penny and she had a story to tell in response to the linked video.
Penny Adrian
I'm a refugee from a Blue State. Twenty seven years ago, I was a homeless single mom in San Francisco. When my baby arrived prematurely, my "progressive" roommates - who never missed a rally for any and all kinds of "human rights"- said I could not bring the baby home from the hospital to the apartment. I was a subtenant and had no legal right to challenge them. So I walked the streets of the Tenderloin, leaking milk with my 5 pound baby crying in my arms, praying an SRO would allow us to stay and let me pay a monthly rate (The Hotel Union on Geary Street finally came through for us - I think because it was owned by a large Indian family and the old man who owned the place took pity on us).
I remember my friend Millie saying at the time (in her slow Southern drawl) "This would never happen in Alabama."
And she was right. This would never happen in Alabama.
My baby and I got the HELL out of San Francisco, and I am a happy homeowner in Texas today. I don't even have a mortgage!
The 2030 census will be a reckoning for Blue States and their hypocritical policies. If you are a working or middle class person, you cannot live a dignified life in a Blue State or a Blue city. That means Blue states will be losing House seats they may never get back. They will also be losing influence in the electoral college.
Good!
I will never forget the smug hypocrisy and lack of compassion I experienced as a working class mom among the "kind" people. The 2030 census can't come too soon for me.

Ruy Teixeira on why The Liberal Patriot closed, why the Democrats won't learn, and what to expect in 2026 & 2028
I had the absolute pleasure of talking to Ruy Teixeira of The Liberal Patriot, which recently shut down over a lack of funding.
