I'm a sports fan and I hate the Olympics. I'm Greek, and I hate the Olympics. I wrestled, and I still, hate the Olympics. So many stupid events.
I really wish Olympic Hockey or Basketball, soccer even wrestling was tournament style. You lose, you drop to the 3rd place bracket. Lose again, you're out. I wrestled. That's how we always did it. I'd be much more interested in a game knowing the winner advances and the loser drops to the losers bracket as we called it. I won a lot of bronze medals. I wasn't that good so my record wasn't that good so I always had to wrestle the best guys early. But at least I fought back to win a lot of 3rds. I always argued they are just as good as 2nd. I never wrestled the guy who took 2nd. Maybe I would have beat him? LOL. Losers bracket.
60 years ago, Europeans used to laugh at Americans in downhill skiing sports.
i wish they would move a lot of events from the Summer Games to the Winter Games. There are too many sports in the Summer Olympics. I don’t know if it’s still the case but at one point, there were more track and field events in the Summer Olympics than there were events in the entire Winter Games. Indoor events like the martial arts and boxing could be moved into the Winter Games easily.
I go the exact opposite direction. I’d have more sports. A). It doesn’t bother me at all since I only watch the ones I care about. If there is a compelling story about an archer or hammer throw athlete, I am better for hearing it than have them remain anonymous.

I’d let the home country put in 4 events an olympics (if they want to). Have you seen this thing they do in Spain?
If they are having the Games in an area where this activity (I won’t call it a sport) is popular and it is done in different nations; why not add it to the games? Set up some guidelines and rules and “let the games begin” so to speak. Like in 2028, I don’t really care much for the practice but since its in the US, why not have some rodeo events...definitely have Baseball again. In 2032 in Brisbane, they likely won’t have rodeo or baseball since its not native to the area. Perhaps more aquatic events???
You know what else I hate? World Cup Soccer. That's every 4 years too. Now I do care a little because it's USA vs everyone else but beyond that, it's a sport I hate to watch. Club soccer is better than the World Cup in my view. i love watching Soccer moreso than othe sports. They have it set up wonderfully. Few commercials, they avoid the endless video conjecture of the replay, and you’re on with your day in about 2 hours. The passion of the fans is unmatched by the NFL or any other US Sport.

God I wish I loved it like that. And to be honest, it's possible I could one day get into it. I get into hockey when the red wings are good. If I can do that then one day maybe Michigan will have a great soccer team and that sucks me in. Until then, no interest.
You guys saw what I wrote earlier right? About most olympic athletes are manchildren? Or women who refuse to grow up and get a real job? Who doesn't want to continue playing sports after high school and college? We all do. But the rest of us knows that don't pay. So I get football, baseball, basketball, hocket. Those are INDUSTRIES. They make a lot of money!!! I get that. Soccer too. But most of these olympic sports are embarrassing and the manchild who's doing that sport ain't making shit. So why does he do it? You know the guys who sky with the gun and shoot targets? How much do pros make in that sport? LOL.We need to winter events with dodgeball.
